Penske Racing, Inc. is the most successful Indy car racing team in history with 144 race wins, 12 National Championships and 183 pole positions. In addition, Penske Racing has won the Indianapolis 500-mile race 15 times, including consecutive wins in 2001, 2002 and 2003 and the most recent win last May with driver Helio Castroneves. The Penske-prepared Honda-powered cars are driven by Castroneves and Ryan Briscoe under the Team Penske banner. Power will compete full-time for the team in 2010 in the Team Verizon Wireless car, alongside Castroneves and Briscoe.
Penske Racing South, Inc. fields three entries in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: the Miller Lite Dodge driven by 2004 NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Kurt Busch, the Penske Dodge driven by rising star Brad Keselowski and the Mobil 1 Dodge driven by three-time IndyCar Series Champion and 2006 Indianapolis 500 winner Sam Hornish Jr. Busch has 20 career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series wins, including two victories in 2009, as he finished fourth in the series championship. Keselowski, who earned his first Cup Series win in limited action in 2009, joined the team for the final three races last season and he will compete full-time in the 2010 Cup Series in the Penske Dodge. Hornish made the transition to full-time NASCAR racing in 2008, finishing second in the Rookie-of-the-Year standings. Penske Racing will compete with two full-season entries in the 2010 Nationwide Series with Justin Allgaier, the 2009 series Rookie of the Year, driving the Verizon Wireless Dodge and Keselowski driving the Discount Tire Dodge. Allgaier won his first series pole at Memphis last season and finished sixth in the championship standings. Keselowski has produced six wins and three poles in Nationwide Series competition and he finished third in the series standings in each of the past two seasons.
